Milan, Italy – 24th of May , 2024 – MARK / GIUSTI is thrilled to announce our first artist collaboration for The World of MARK / GIUSTI Experiential Pop-Up with the talented designer, Francesco Maria Messina. Renowned for his exceptional craftsmanship and innovative designs, Messina will bring his unique touch to our pop-up event, offering attendees an exclusive look at his artistry in action.
Born in Pisa, Italy, Francesco Maria Messina began his artistic journey at the age of 15. After graduating in Paris and refining his skills at the École Spéciale d'Architecture, Messina completed a master’s degree at the Confluence Institute in Lyon. His travels to New Orleans, Cameroon, and Mauritius have significantly influenced his design philosophy, which seamlessly blends nature, history, and cutting-edge materials.
In 2018, Messina co-founded Cypraea, a luxury furniture brand in Mauritius, achieving remarkable success. By 2020, he returned to Tuscany to establish his own design studio, where he focuses on creating exclusive pieces that address environmental concerns. His collections, such as Glacies, Mineralia, and Fossilia, showcase his commitment to sustainability and innovation.
Messina’s work has been featured in prestigious international exhibitions, including Milan Design Week, Venice Design Biennial, Dubai Design Week, and London Collect. He has also participated in Arte in Nuvola in Rome, Edit Napoli, and Lake Como Design. His dedication to sustainable design and his ability to transform rare materials into functional art pieces have solidified his reputation in the world of collectible design.
